Gross salary versus net salary in Monaco

In Monaco, the difference between gross and net pay comes mostly from employee social contributions. Residents pay no personal income tax, with the exception of French nationals, who remain subject to French income tax under the 1963 Franco-Monegasque convention. Our guide on the tax rate in Monaco details these rules.

Monaco Tribune estimates employee contributions at about 13% of gross pay for a minimum wage worker, against about 20% in France. At the minimum wage of €2,080.39 gross, this gives a net salary of about €1,810 per month. This is an illustration: contribution rates change with the pay level and the situation of the employee, so the payslip remains the reference for your own case.
